Remember Richard Hatch? He was the “fat naked guy” who won $1 million the first season of CBS’s ‘Survivor’. Like any other income, if you win a million dollars, you’re supposed to pay Uncle Sam a portion of the winnings. Hatch, though, did not want to share his winnings with Uncle Sam. For years, Uncle Sam tried to get Hatch to fork over a portion of the money, and for years Hatch said, “No!” Finally, the government got really mad. So, they sentenced Hatch to 51 months in prison in Oklahoma.
Hatch better be careful being the “fat naked guy” in prison. For some reason, I think the TV audience is a bit more merciful than his new friends. And do you think that CBS might capitalize on this and do ‘Survivor: Oklahoma City’?
