Time Magazine published an article titled, “The Big Lie about the Middle East” by Lisa Beyer, in its most recent issue. Beyer brought to surface how easily the Palestinian issues can trump Arab politics and any problems within the Arab world. Though she does admit that Israel can contribute to some of the chaos in the Middle East, its existence cannot be blamed for all that is wrong in the Arab world. Presumably, if the country were to be erased from the maps, there will not necessarily be that much less chaos in the Middle East.

Good point Eddy. Israel concentrates and focuses a lot of the issues in the Middle East but doesn’t create most of them. The conflict between fundamentalist Islam and modernity, Sunni and Shia, etc. would be just as lively with or without Israel.
