The Russian and Greek Orthodox church celebrate Christmas on Jan. 7. I think the Armenian Church (which is technically not part of the Orthodox tradition) is the only one that celebrates it on its CORRECT date. I'm particular about dates--can't celebrate my birthday but on the day. So it's probably the Armenian in me wanting to honor Jesus's birthday on the real (and not pagan) day. I'm sure it doesn't really matter, but still... :)

Do you know if it's just the Armenian Church, or does most of Eastern Orthodoxy celebrate Christmas or Nativity on January 6th? (I know that Easter is celebrated on a different Sunday than for the Catholic and Protestant churches.)

By the way, there is a bit of irony in your post. (Nerd alert.) Isaac Watts penned the lyrics for "Joy to the World," but he was a Puritan and didn't celebrate Christmas at all.
