I'm with Eddy on this one. This sounds like another case of celebrity justice. I don't Rocky should prosecute his wife - that would be an ethical conflict. But he shouldn't play dumb and pretend like he didn't know any of this stuff.

The fact that she is not authorized to drive the company care (for personal errands or for any errands) makes this pretty clear cut. I'm not saying Rocky should be ousted, but there shouldn't be any lame allowances made for "I just didn't know" or "this is a private matter with my family, please respect that."

Leadership of any kind - political, organizational or religious - eliminates the "this is my private life, leave me alone" line.

I think the story is that she drove for personal errands (which should not be covered by city expenses). And yes, while it might be easier to go after thugs than my wife if I were a prosecutor, I suppose those who run for public office are saying that they will uphold the law regardless of their relationship to the attorney.

Finally, there is an update to all of this. New allegations are coming out that Mr. Delgadillo has asked his staff (city employees) to babysit his kids and run other errands. In my *humble* opinion, Rocky's hit three strikes and time to get out!

I think it would be much harder to prosecute your wife than someone you don't know.

As for the city covering the cost of the wreck, that is part of owning the car. If I crash my company's car, I expect the company's insurance to pick up the tab, that's why they have insurance. If his wife was authorized to use the car, then I see no problem with that incident.

I'm not defending Rocky, but I don't think his actions are so out of line.
