When I served last year, I too found the experience inspirational. I came away with a greater appreciation for the way our system is set up, especially the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. Brilliant idea. So is the Fifth Amendment, in my opinion. Actually serving on a jury is also a tedious experience. Justice moves slowly -- it didn't help that the DA seemed out of his element. It wasn't an exciting case and I found myself rather bored often during the trial and during all the waiting. There is a ton of waiting.
